Michele Hobbs
Bass / Vocals

As a 10-year-old in Northwest Indiana, Michele began playing bass with about 6 months of instruction, followed by jammin' along to whatever Chicago R&B station she was listening to.
After temporarily putting the bass aside to pursue a Purdue University electrical engineering degree, she re-located to Grand Blanc for employment in the auto industry and immediately
resumed playing music.

Since then, Michele has hit the stage with many rock, jazz, funk and blues ensembles from Flint, metro-Detroit and Lansing, entertaining audiences ranging in size from small and intimate to opening in front of 10,000 for The Temptations and at The Detroit Jazz Festival. Longer duration projects include funk-rock band Heckyl & Jive, which released a CD, "Fish Outta Water", the Robert Penn Blues Band, the Duane Parham Society and most recently, Lansing-based variety band Soulstice.

Michele cites Mark Adams (Slave), Larry Graham (Sly & The Family Stone/Graham Central Station), Marcus Miller, Louis Johnson (The Brothers Johnson), John Patitucci and Nathan East as bass influences. Other musical interests include studio recording, mixing and production at her project studio.
